Since they put the linky-thingy up early this week, and I'm up significantly later than usual, I figured I'd go ahead and throw up a picture I shot of Jayci's little hands with her sippy cup playing outside today. And can I just say how ecstatic I was to see the sun so much this weekend? My mood was infinitely better. Infinitely.
Although I am protesting the fact that this looks like a little kid hand and not a baby hand. Slow down time. Please. Pretty please?
**Edited to add: I swear I added my link last night and was #24 or something . . . and now I cant find mine on there at all, so I'm re-linking up. Maybe I've been having dreams about I Heart Faces, which would be a little pathetic.
**EDITED AGAIN to add: oops, now I have 2 links. I'm so lame and un-tech-savvy

Yep, those ARE some cute little girl hands. And nope, they aren't baby hands; she is one independent little lady! But she'll always be YOUR baby, and that's what matters! (and I am with ya on the sunshine... makes me want to sing that John Denver song "Sunshine on my shoulders...."! )
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I love her hands. And her sippy cup. I am so stinkin thirsty right now.
ReplyDeleteI am going to add you to my favorites right now. I haven't changed that in like a million years. You know you are my favorite. I come over here a hundred times a week. Minimum.
The sun was shining in PA today too. So we rode our sled down the 32 inches of snow.... delightful.
Where is spring? PS It was up early, right? I was late too!
I know how you feel about the hands looking too old..I have 7 kids, and even my youngest is already one, and her hands aren't so tiny anymore :-(! Cute shot...we have those sippy cups too! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of favorites...
ReplyDeleteDon't you think you need to add your email so that when you leave comments I can respond to your email? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Do you need me to teach you? : )
Jimminy Crickets. It's like I have to do EVERYTHING for you. Punk.
And PS It is NOT my hand. My hands are super fat (like the rest of me) and I chew my fingernails. I couldn't fit in any of those rings! I can't even fit in my wedding ring. You really should stop talking to me. I am not cool at all. : (
: )
You're right...her hands are not pudgy and baby-like any more. Am I correct in saying that it appears you have no snow? So jealous! :)
ReplyDeleteThey grow up SOOO fast don't they? I no longer have baby OR little girl hands to hold....I miss them :-( Sweet shot!
ReplyDeleteI love shots like these of mine. I think these are the little things that we'll look back on in 20 years and be so glad we have them preserved for us to remember the essence of little hands on perfect little pink sippy cups. : )
ReplyDeletethis was a good reminder for me. I did stuff like this ALL THE TIME with my first. My second has gotten less. I think mostly the last several months because its cold and we are inside -- and I'm a natural light photographer, so inside stuff is just harder in winter. anyway, I need to get over it and capture the little hands and toes and legs and arms and belly buttons. : )
It is amazing how fast they grow, isn't it! It is good to have pictures like these to help us remember those sweet, little hands.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking at your blog and I am inspired by your ministry to urban youth. I teach in Minneapolis and also have a heart for urban youth. I will pray for your move and ministry as you come to my mind. Blessings on you!
Amazing to think about how such little hands can accomplish so much in a day. I love watching my girls motor skills and the sweet cubbiness of their little hands. Jayci sure has some cute ones!
ReplyDeleteCute!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute hands I might add!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww so sweet, I love the little girl hands!!
ReplyDeleteJayci is too cute! Great job on this pic!
ReplyDeletethat's sweet! It's sad to say goodbye to the baby and hello to the girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely words and a sweet capture!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Isn't it amazing how fast they grow. I wish now I had millions of photos of my boys' hands in mine so that I could remember forever how tiny they once were!
ReplyDeleteOh they grow too fast! Good for you on capturing an everyday moment that slips by oh too quickly!
ReplyDeleteSweet little hand. I'm missing the sunshine here terribly. Please send some my way! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww little hands and tippy cups! So cute!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, so sweet! I am lamenting how grown up my little one is looking these days too....especially with her hair down.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! DOn't you miss those chuby little baby hands!? With the rubberband wrists!? :(
ReplyDeleteLiv is losing her chubs too! So sad, but so fun to see how they are growing! Hope your week is grand.
ReplyDeleteOh, the sippy cup, the quintessential childhood must have. Love it!
